The Council has set forth the following goals for FY 2012:

Collaborate with classroom teachers and other state-based stakeholders regarding Career and Technical Education with special emphasis placed on the Common Core Learning Standards and Illinois Professional Teaching Standards;

Promote and support collaborative research with deliverable outcomes among Career and Technical Education professionals, which influence the practices of Illinois' Career and Technical Education programs;

Provide financial support to Council members for professional development experiences, including, but not limited to business and industry practicum experiences and attending state/national professional meetings; and

Continue to update the Council’s website for effective dissemination of information.
